PRC Trainings

Assistive Technology Works, Inc. will be providing a training opportunity for parents, teachers, speech-language pathologists, assistive technology specialists, and anyone interested in providing support to a user of a Prentke Romich Company communication device.

Hands-on practice is encouraged throughout these courses.  Please bring your PRC device or laptop computer pre-loaded with the PASS software.  PASS is a free download available from tinyurl.com/PRCpass

 

Basic Programming for PRC Devices

Date: Thursday, September 17, 2015

Time: 9:00am-12:00pm

Description: This training focuses on all PRC devices (Accent 700, 800, 1000, 1200, and 1400, ECO2, and legacy devices).  Participants will practice the following skills: edit a core key, edit an activity key and page key, hide or show an activity, create a new activity row and/or page, and perform memory transfer to back up device contents. Participants will also be able to describe the different language representation methods available on PRC devices and be able to accurately locate and define the function of basic hardware features on the devices.  0.3 ASHA CEUs

Introduction to Unity

Date: Thursday, September 17, 2015

Time: 1:00pm-4:00pm

Description: This training focuses on features of Unity 28, 36, 45, 60, 84, and 144 sequenced (Accent 700, 800, 1000, 1200, and 1400, ECO2, and Legacy devices). Participants will review overlays and icon features/functions, Unity Pattern 1 (verb, nouns, adjectives, and adverbs), Unity Patterns 2 (pronouns), Unity Patterns 3 (statements and questions), Unity Pattern 4 (noun categories), Unity Pattern 5 (grammar parts), and strategies for teaching Unity vocabularies.  0.3 ASHA CEUs
