Richard A. Villa, Ph.D.

Richard A. Villa, Ed.D. has worked with thousands of educators to develop and implement organizational and instructional support systems for educating all students within general education settings. He has authored over one hundred articles and book chapters recording inclusive education, differentiated instruction, collaborative planning and teaching, and school restructuring. Dr. Villa has co-edited seven books for teachers, administrators, and parents. He possesses skills required to work effectively with others and facilitate change and progress in education. Dr. Villa has presented at numerous national and international conferences and is known for his enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and humorous style of presenting. We are pleased that he has agreed to be the keynote presenter for our ‘08 Collaborating for Student Success Conference. In addition to the morning presentation, afternoon breakout sessions pertaining to the inclusive classroom will include such topics as differentiation of instruction, use of technology, the role of the paraprofessional, behavior support, co-teaching strategies to use with the co-teaching models, and student self-determination.
